No pictures yet! One of these days, promise. Episode errata: Okay, so for some reason in this episode I keep referring to the back of the quilt as the bottom of the quilt, I guess because I was talking about basting, in which the back of the quilt is the bottom of the quilt. But still. The name of the artist who painted the painting in my family room is Melissa Miller, not Sarah Miller. In which we discuss whether or not all the money I've invested in quilt magazines will seem extravagant and a little looney five years from now. I've got a mixed track record when it comes to sticking to crafts, but my feeling so far is that quilting is something I'll do for many years to come. I talk so much about Thimble Pleasures, I thought I'd include a link. Oh, it's a nice place to visit (and probably an even better place to live).

More quilting adventures in part 2 of Episode 2. Still working on the pictures thing. It will happen one day. In the meantime keep imagining my very perfect quilts. If you, like me, need help with your wrinkles (fabrically-speaking), check out Mary Ellen's Best Press. My Machine Quilts I classmate Kathryn says it really works. The book we're using in Machine Quilts I is First Time Quiltmaking by Becky Johnston. It's very, very basic, but it's got a lot of good stuff for the self-taught quilter such as the likes of me. P.S. I just listened to this on I-Tunes, and the volume is a little low. I'll work to correct that next time. For now, turn up the volume, girls!

NOTE: This is the promised rebroadcast of episode 2/Part 1! I've been on the road looking at quilts, but the quilt fun keeps on coming tomorrow, when I head to class and my guild meeting. So I'm breaking up Episode 2 into two parts, so as not to wear you out. With any luck, I'm going to get some pictures up soon. I took a bunch of photos at the Gate City Quilter's Guild show in Greensboro, NC. Beautiful stuff!

The podcast is up! I could not be more amazed. I'm not what you would call technologically gifted or intuitive. Which is why it may take me a while to figure out how to upload pictures to this blog. Until that time, imagine all my quilts are beautiful and perfectly pieced. Yes, yes, that's exactly how it is.
